Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Balkans Quiz application ("App") provided by Modex Apps ("we", "us", "our"), a company based in Tirana, Albania. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms.
Auto-Renewable Subscription Disclosure
Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the confirmed purchase price.
Management: Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal turned off by going to Account Settings in the App Store after purchase. Cancellation of the current active subscription period is not allowed.
Free trial: Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Prices: Prices are in USD (or local currency equivalent) and may vary by country or region. Price changes will be communicated in advance.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Balkans Quiz, you confirm that you are at least 4 years old (or have parental consent if under 13) and that you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not sublicence, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the App.
3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Balkans Quiz offers optional paid features ("Pro") through Apple's In-App Purchase system:
- Monthly / Weekly subscriptions — auto-renewing. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period unless cancelled.
- Lifetime purchase — a one-time non-consumable purchase granting permanent Pro access.
- Subscriptions can be managed and cancelled in your Apple ID Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued.
- Prices are set in the App Store and may vary by country or region.
- Any free trial offer converts to a paid subscription at the trial's end unless cancelled beforehand.
All billing is handled by Apple. We do not process or store payment information.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to cheat, manipulate, or exploit the leaderboard or scoring system
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract question data or content from the App
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our backend systems
5. Intellectual Property
All content in the App — including questions, explanations, icons, graphics, design, and code — is owned by Modex Apps or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand identity.
6. Game Center
Leaderboard and achievement features use Apple Game Center. Your use of Game Center is governed by Apple's Terms of Service. We are not responsible for data processed by Apple through Game Center.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies. Quiz content is educational and entertainment in nature — we make no representations regarding the completeness or accuracy of any specific question or answer.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Modex Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, lost profits, or interruption of service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to the App immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, all licences granted to you will cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Tirana, Albania. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have rights under your local consumer protection laws.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or its App Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
